What I have done:
- Deformers. You can't see the effects of these in the screenshots because they are, sadly, still frames. But trust me, they're cool, and make the hair effects look good.
- Terrain. Obviously. This is what the characters are running around in. So far, I've got the basic terrain structure in place, and have one terrain object flow smoothly into another. All in all, fairly detailed, with a pretty quick load time. I need to upgrade to the newer version of Bryce, however. I updated my OS to Mac OS X 10.4, which, while it allows me to implement newer, cooler features (see the part about anti-aliasing), it's not compatible with Bryce 5, which can no longer export objects and images...that's kind of important. *sighs* $40 of this week's paycheck...already committed. If I'd bought everything I need for this thing at this point, I'd be a cool $500 in debt about now. -_-
- Full screen anti-aliasing. Now this is what makes it look really good. With OS 10.4, anti-aliasing is finally available in Quesa. It makes all the images look really smooth and professional grade. Unfortunately, it also makes it run a lot slower, and it has to work hard just to keep at the default frame rate (15 fps). I need a better graphics card. There's another couple of weeks worth of paychecks.
Up next:
- Terrain streaming. It loads 9 terrain objects completely at the beginning. Obviously, the entire land that could be explored is potentially limitless in it's dimensions, so I have to get it to load terrain bit by bit as it comes within a certain range (4096 units for those of you who care...just a little bit out of the camera view range of 4000 units).
- Terrain object placement. Trees, and water, and stuff. Pretty self explanatory.

Do you ever wonder why they have lightsabers but no light-pocket knives? Because I don't.

And DU's short for DemocraticUnderground, a message board I'm fairly active on.

Life is but a memory
Happened long ago.
Theatre full of sadness
For a long forgotten show.
Seems so easy
Just to let it go on by
Till you stop and wonder
Why you never wondered why.

And some of these smilies really suck! Some are awesome, but some...like the wink...what the hell is that? It's like he got shot in the eye...wtf...OK, rant over.
